How Much Time is Required?The process of becoming a Blue Knob Ski Patroller is extremely demanding of your time and dedication. Your first year will be a serious time commitment and quite challenging at times. However, earning your cross and a place on the Blue Knob Ski Patrol will be life changing, with lifelong skills & friendships developed along the way.

May Outdoor Emergency Care Course schedule set Order your OEC textbook Register for the on-line portion of the OEC course June On-line OEC independent learning July New Candidates register with NSP Late Summer hands on practical OEC sessions begin 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) for 3 months at Blue Knob |

Continued OEC practical sessions October / Fall - Refresher weekend 2 days, a full weekend, Saturday and Sunday Review on-hill procedures and OEC refresher for all patrollers Candidates are utilized as patients Complete ICS 100 (on-line) prior to this weekend Late October - Early Nov OEC exam E-Test & practical is scheduled Nov - Dec Active Patrollers Sign up for duty shifts December Start skiing as soon as possible January OET – Outdoor Emergency Transportation Begins the first weekend of January. Every weekend Sat. & Sun. mornings OEC on the snow training on certain afternoons. Schedule will be provided in advance. |
