Home of the Western Appalachian Region Young Adult Program

Picture
Patrollers aged 15 through High School graduation form their own special group. In addition to all the training and work shifts that adult patrollers participate in the YAPs receive additional training with other Young Adult Patrollers within the Western Appalachian Patrol Region. This gives the few young patrollers at any given ski area the opportunity to work and ski with others in their own peer group. Usually one weekend per season is devoted to a Regional YAP educational Seminar along with a second at the Divisional level. The Regional Event has typically been held at Blue Knob since it is centrally located within the region. The Divisional Event is a 4 day ski event and is typically held annually in Northern New England the second weekend of March.
